Charcuterie Board Care
Resin Coated Boards
Your new board has had two coats of a food safe mineral oil/bees wax combo. Hand wash with soap and water. Condition your board occasionally, depending on frequency of use/washing, with further coatings of a food safe mineral oil, salad bowl wax etc. You can cut on the wooden portion of the board but avoid cutting directly on the resin. If the wooden part of the board becomes scratched or rough it can be lightly sanded, 180-220 grit sandpaper, then re-oiled.
River Style (embedded resin) Boards
The care of these boards is the same as the coated ones except that you can cut on the entire surface of the board, therefore you can sand and oil the whole board as needed.
I make my own combination mineral oil/beeswax board conditioner I use on the boards that can also be purchased for $10 for an 85g tin.
